Featured Artist :: Mich20

mich20

This week's featured artist is Mich20!

Mich20 - Home to clay people and creatures.

Senioritis: Name and location please.
Mich20: Michelle, Auckland New Zealand.
Senioritis: Hi Michelle! New Zealand, very cool. My sister Jillian spent some time in Australia and New Zealand and brought me back a New Zeland rugby shirt that says Rugby players don't cry, unless they're Australian; I thought it was pretty funny. On another note, I always wondered why New Zealanders are called Kiwis, can you enlighten us?

Senioritis: Can you tell us a little about yourself Michelle?
Mich20: I work as a lawyer and wish I was an artist. I love creating things and aside from making and painting things I love pottering around in my little vegetable garden.
Senioritis: Interesting, we know a few lawyers who wish they were doing something else as well, guess that goes on everywhere ;) Any specific vegetables you like growing? Any New Zealand specialties?

Senioritis: You say you like creating, making, and painting; how would you describe your style?
Mich20: Colourful, eclectic, and quirky (or at least I like to think so).
Senioritis: We think so too ;)

Senioritis: Do you have a favorite color?
Mich20: Green

Senioritis: Are you a righty or a lefty Michelle?
Mich20: Righty
Senioritis: We are embarking on a mission to find more leftys. If you are a lefty please leave us a comment saying so =)

Senioritis: Do you have a favorite quote?
Mich20: "Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear." —Ambrose Redmoon
Senioritis: Great quote, we weren't able to find much about the author but we think that he was right on with this observation.

Senioritis: Michelle, if you could have lunch with someone famous, past or present, who would it be?
Mich20: If the person I'm having lunch with is cooking - maybe Tom Colicchio (I really love food).
Senioritis: Hmmm, we love food too!! It seems like he has a number of restaurants in New York City, we'll have to give them a shot. For those who would like to follow along with Tom Colicchio in their own kitchen, check out some of his recipes here.

Senioritis: What's your favorite cartoon, from now or when you were a kid?
Mich20: The Smurfs

Senioritis: Classic.

Senioritis: Where do you see yourself and your business in 10 years Michelle?
Mich20: I would love to run my Etsy business fulltime and work from home, hopefully making lots of money!
Senioritis: That certainly sounds like an excellent plan to us!

Senioritis: Are there any websites you'd like to share with us?
Mich20: My Etsy shop and Pikaland, it's a fantastic site with lots of links to great illustration artists.
Senioritis: Very cool, we love checking out new sites, we'll be sure to take a look!

We'd like to thank Michelle for putting her lawyering responsibilities aside for a moment to chat with us :) Be sure to check out her esty shop, Mich20 when you have a moment. Also keep your eyes peeled for a Mich20 x senioritis collabo in the future!

  5. Thanks Heather, we do have a lot in common :) Hopefully we'll be able to work on a collabo sometime soon!

Thanks Digicute, I really like the Dickens as well, think it might be the hair and beard; however, I think if Oscar Wilde had his pimp cane he would be my favorite =)

Thanks for checking out our feature Lindsay, glad you enjoyed the interview :)
